The 2023 USFL season will be played in Birmingham, Detroit, Memphis and Canton, Ohio. Each site will host two teams. Birmingham will play host to the Birmingham Stallions and New Orleans Breakers. The Memphis Showboats and Houston Gamblers will train and play home games in Memphis and Canton, Ohio plays host to the Pittsburgh Maulers and New Jersey.
The USFL is the first major professional spring football league in nearly 40 years to return for a second season. Training camp for the second season begins in the middle of March, with the opening games scheduled for April 15. Birmingham will play at home on the opening day, but an opponent has not been announced.

Birmingham played host to the regular season and the playoffs last spring. The championship game was played in Canton, Ohio. Head coach Skip Holtz and the Stallions used the home-field advantage to finish 9-1 in the regular season and went on to win the USFL championship.
