Veterans from across Alabama announced on Monday their endorsement of Morgan Murphy for the open U.S. Senate seat in Alabama in 2026.
Murphy, who has served in the Navy Reserves for the last 26 years, is a national security and foreign policy expert who has worked for U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) as well as the first and second Trump administrations.
“I have served in the Air Force for 32 years and Morgan Murphy represents our values,” said Colonel Douglas “Cinco” DeMaio. “Dedication and service to the nation. Morgan Murphy will make an excellent senator for the great state of Alabama. I hope other veterans and Alabamians join me in my support of Morgan Murphy for the U.S. Senate.”
The U.S. Senate seat is open because Tuberville is running for governor instead of seeking re-election.
“Serving my country’s military has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and when I am elected to the Senate, I will proudly serve the more than 300,000 veterans from Alabama,” Murphy said. “As the next Senator, I will always remember those who have worn their nation’s uniform and been willing to fight and die for their nation. Too often, our veterans come home from military conflicts and are forgotten by our political establishment in Washington, D.C. I will be their voice and their advocate on Capitol Hill and, most importantly, never vote to send a son or daughter of Alabama to fight in an endless war as so many reckless senators have in the past.”
