Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch said detectives are working to determine if a quadruple homicide in Wilmer could be connected to drugs.

Lisa Gail Fields, 46, her daughter, Keziah Arionna Luker, 17, Luker’s unborn child, and Fields’ 12-year-old son, Thomas Cordelle, Jr., were found slain at approximately 2:30 a.m. inside their home at 7950 Auble Moody Road.

Burch said Luker’s boyfriend called for a welfare check after noticing that Luker’s phone had sent a Life360 notification. Deputies arrived and found the three all in separate rooms, brutally murdered.

“All three victims had their hands bound behind them with zip ties or flex cuffs,” Burch said. “The mother was stabbed. The 17-year-old was shot and the 12-year-old's throat was cut, as was the mom’s, and she was stabbed, in addition.”

Burch said the boy’s throat was cut so deeply that he was nearly decapitated. An 18-month-old baby was left unharmed.

No arrests have been made. Burch said at this time he does not want to speculate on the motive of the killings, but said detectives are combing the scene for clues.

“I can tell you the house was gone through and left in disarray,” he said. “So, someone was searching for something.”

Fields and the father of her son have a history of drug use, and Burch said that is a factor in the investigation, although he said he does not want to place blame on any victims at this time.

Investigators do not suspect the killings were domestic in nature.

Burch said upon completion of the investigation, evidence will be presented to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. The DA will decide if the person or persons responsible will be charged with three counts of murder or four counts of murder, due to the death of the unborn child.
