A recent report finding that 26 FBI informants were present at the Capitol in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021 should be “looked into in detail,” according to former Assistant Secretary of the Army Casey Wardynski.

Wardynski, a Huntsville resident, discussed a Department of Justice report released last week analyzing the FBI’s intelligence gathering and handling of its informants for the rally at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 during an interview on Blaze News Tonight on Friday.

Wardynski said it wasn’t “beyond the pale” to think “provocateurs” were at the rally.

“We’ve had time to think about it for four years and we’ve watched the way they’ve persecuted these Americans who, many were non-violent, many were at the Capitol for a rally that was a patriotic event,” Wardynski said. “They lost control of it because there was not enough folks on the ground there. They’ve spent years rotting in jail. I’ve come to the conclusion that this was an extension of the behavior that we saw in the summer of ‘20 extending through the election and it was behavior that was purely operating against President Trump at every turn. ‘He could not be trusted. We had to watch out for him. We had to worry about the Insurrection Act. We had to worry about his speech at West Point.’ It’s not beyond the pale that there were provocateurs in that crowd. Whether they were FBI or who put them there, I don't know but I’m willing to entertain that and I think it needs to be looked into in detail.”

Trump has pledged to pardon people convicted of January 6-related crimes once he takes office.
