Tuscaloosa District 1 Councilman Matthew Wilson lost a city council race runoff against Joe Eatmon on Tuesday.
According to the Tuscaloosa Patch, before failing to win a third term on the council, Wilson was caught on camera over the weekend kicking down one of Eatmon's signs while out campaigning.
Eatmon said on Facebook Tuesday night, "Thank you, thank you! I am honored to have been chosen by the people of this district to represent them as their city councilor."
"Your support and belief in me is humbling. As I have said on the campaign trail, I will work hard every day for every one [sic] in every room making our community a better place!" Eatmon said.
Wilson congratulated Eatmon on the victory.
