During a Tuesday appearance on Rightside Broadcasting Network, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) criticized an apparent unwillingness of certain immigrant and religious groups to assimilate into American culture.
"What's happening now is we've got a very old and outdated immigration system that is allowing people to come into this country that can pretty much do what they want in terms of not assimilating," explained Tuberville. "Not going by our constitution, having their own laws, having their own courts and having their own police. That doesn't fit here."
He added, "We've had a lot of people lose their lives to keep this country free and to allow the people of this country to enjoy a constitution that protects them."
According to the senator, the continuous importation of radical Sharia law adherents into the United States is unsustainable.
"If you don't assimilate with us, and you go by Sharia law in the Quran, and you teach your kids death to Americans, death to infidels, you don't deserve to be here," said Tuberville. "That's not how this country runs. We can't survive like that. Now, I know some people here that are from the Muslim faith, they go by the Constitution, they don't preach and teach Sharia law and the Quran, and they live a life we do. They want this country to be better."
"If you're not coming here to make the United States a better country and go by the Constitution, we don't want you; we want you to go home," he concluded.
