The Alabama Weather Network, with chief meteorologist James Spann, launched Monday with hundreds of fans watching.

The 24/7 weather network will span the state, offering unprecedented coverage in all 67 counties.

"If you live in the state of Alabama, we've got your back," Spann said during the launch.

The team of experienced meteorologists and over 1,000 storm spotters statewide will offer live cameras, storm chaser live streams, and shared videos and photos.

Spann introduced his new team and showed off sky cams from across the state.

Spann said the Alabama Weather Network is committed to providing live coverage anytime there is a tornado warning for any county.

The platform will partner with the National Weather Service offices across the state to provide weather reports, data and warning information.
