Alabama baseball is still looking for its first SEC win after No. 21 Kentucky took three games from the Crimson Tide to complete the weekend sweep.

The Crimson Tide led late-inning comeback attempts in all three games, but each comeback attempt came up short.

The sweep drops Alabama to 15-6 overall and 0-3 in the SEC.

Here is a weekend recap of the series.

Game One:

Despite a late-inning push, Alabama baseball couldn't dig out of an early six-run hole on the road, falling 7-4 to Kentucky on Friday night. The loss brought an end to the Crimson Tide’s six-game winning streak and marked their first loss of the SEC schedule.

Justin Lebron wasted no time setting the tone, launching his ninth home run of the season in the opening frame to put the Crimson Tide ahead early. Lebron wrapped up the contest with a 2-for-5 performance. Bryce Fowler also went 2-for-5, adding a single and a double. John Lemm added to the Alabama offense, going 1-for-4, highlighted by a massive three-run blast.

In his fifth start of the season, Tyler Fay battled for seven innings against a persistent Kentucky lineup. While the Wildcats managed to scratch across at least one run in each of the first five frames, the right-hander found his rhythm late, retiring nine straight batters before handing the ball over. Fay allowed eight hits and six earned runs while striking out eight batters.

Game Two:

Down to their final three outs and facing a four-run deficit, Alabama nearly pulled off a stunning comeback by plating three runs in the ninth. However, the rally fell just short as a game-ending strikeout sealed an 8-7 victory for No. 21 Kentucky, leaving the Crimson Tide searching for their first conference win of the season.

John Lemm led the way for the Alabama offense, turning in a 2-for-5 performance highlighted by a double and his second home run of the series. In his first start in nearly a month, Will Plattner made an immediate impact, going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.

Bryce Fowler had another multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a walk, while Brennan Holt also had two hits, driving in two runs.

Zane Adams was handed his first loss of the season following a four-inning stint that started with promise but ran into trouble late. After keeping the Wildcats largely at bay through four frames, the southpaw surrendered four straight hits to open the fifth, forcing an early exit. Adams ended his afternoon charged with six hits, four earned runs, and two walks, while recording four strikeouts.

Game Three:

Another late-inning comeback fell short as the Crimson Tide couldn’t overcome a five-run deficit. Alabama plated four runs in the seventh to cut the Kentucky lead to one, but the Wildcats added another run in the eighth while the Crimson Tide was unable to put another run across the board.

Bryce Fowler drove in two for Alabama with a single in the seventh, while Justin Lebron and Will Plattner both contributed RBI hits in the seventh inning.

Myles Upchurch was handed his second loss of the season after failing to get the final out in the fourth inning. Upchurch battled for 3.2 innings, allowing three hits and three earned runs while striking out two batters. Control was a big issue for Upchurch as he allowed five free passes as well as a hit batsman on Sunday.

Alabama will travel to South Alabama for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at 6:30.
