The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team completed another three-game sweep over the weekend against North Dakota State.
The three victories improved the Crimson Tide to a perfect 12-0 to start the 2025 season.
Here is a recap of the weekend series.
Game One:
Alabama slugged four home runs to rally from behind three runs to take the series opener 12-4 over North Dakota State.
North Dakota State got off to a hot start, plating three runs in the opening frame. Alabama quickly responded with a five-run second inning and never looked back. Kade Snell led the Crimson Tide offense going 4-for-5 with a solo home run in the second inning. Brennen Norton and Richard Bonomolo, Jr. both added home runs in the five-run second inning.
After a rough opening inning, Zane Adams settled down and finished his day pitching four innings, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out a career high six batters. Braylon Myers took over in the fifth and recorded his first win of the season pitching three scoreless innings in relief.
Game Two:
In Saturday’s second game of the series, Alabama had to hold off a late ninth inning rally from the Bisons to keep a 9-7 win as well as claiming the series win.
Brennen Norton continued his hot hitting for the Crimson Tide, going 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI. Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron bounced back after a hitless Friday night with a 3-for-5 day including a home run and two RBI.
Riley Quick kept the Bisons in check and secured his third win of the season, allowing two runs and striking out five in four innings of work. The Bison plated four runs in the ninth to trim the lead to two runs before Carson Ozmer came in from the bullpen to get the final two outs and preserve the victory.
Game Three:
Another big second inning for the Crimson Tide was the difference in the game on Sunday. The Bisons jumped out on top in the first inning with a RBI double but the lead wouldn’t last long. Alabama countered with a seven-run second inning. Jason Torres started the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run, giving him a home run in all three games of the series. Lebron added to the scoring in the second inning with a grand slam, making his lone hit on the day count.
Bobby Alcock got the win for the Crimson Tide, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out seven in four innings pitched. Alcock gave way to the bullpen that shut down the Bison offense, allowing just one run on one hit while striking out four in the final five innings of play.
Alabama will travel to Jacksonville State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a midweek matchup. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
