No. 12 Alabama baseball split the first two games of the series with No. 9 Oklahoma but took the final game on Sunday to win the series.
The Crimson Tide move to 25-4 overall and 6-3 in SEC play on the season.
Here is a recap of the weekend series.
Game One:
After losing the lead to a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning, Alabama mounted a comeback with a three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth to secure an 8-6 victory over Oklahoma on Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
Justin Lebron, Kade Snell and Jason Torres powered the Crimson Tide's offense, each collecting three hits. Lebron went 3-for-5 with a double and a solo homer, scoring three runs and driving in one. Snell extended his multi-hit streak to seven games with a 3-for-4 performance, adding a walk and two RBI. Torres also finished 3-for-5, delivering a key RBI single in the eighth inning.
Zane Adams took the mound for his seventh start of the 2025 season, giving up two runs on four hits over four innings. JT Blackwood followed in relief, tossing 2.2 innings while allowing two runs on two hits and striking out two Sooners. Carson Ozmer secured the win despite losing the save opportunity in the eighth, surrendering just two hits and one run across his two innings of work.
Game Two:
Alabama attempted a comeback in the ninth inning but fell short against Oklahoma, losing 6-5 on Saturday afternoon. Down by two runs at the start of the ninth, Alabama's first two batters reached base. Justin Lebron then drew a walk to load the bases with one out. A groundout brought two runners into scoring position, but the game ended with a called third strike, halting the rally.
Alabama’s nine-hole hitter Bryce Fowler led the Crimson Tide offense, going 3-for-4 with three singles and a run scored. Richie Bonomolo, Jr. added a solo home run in his debut game as the Crimson Tide’s leadoff hitter.
Bobby Alcock took the mound for his seventh start of the season, pitching six innings while giving up four runs on five hits. He recorded five strikeouts and issued four walks. The right-hander allowed a run in each of the first three innings but settled in to toss three straight scoreless frames before getting pulled in the seventh. Hagan Richie pitched a hitless eighth but was handed the loss after allowing the winning run to cross the plate in the ninth.
Game Three:
Plenty of offense in the early frames helped lead Alabama to an 8-6 win in the rubber match on Sunday to take the weekend series from Oklahoma. The Sooners took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Crimson Tide quickly erased the lead and never looked back by putting up three runs in their half of the first inning. Alabama tacked on runs in the second and third, and added three more in the fourth to extend their lead to 8-1. Oklahoma slowly chipped away at Alabama’s lead, cutting it to 8-6 in the eighth inning, but that would turn out to be the final score.
Bryce Fowler had another solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Jason Torres drove in three runs for the Crimson Tide on a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
Braylon Myers came into the game in relief and retired the final two outs in the eighth inning to get the win, striking out one and not allowing a hit. Alabama closer Carson Ozmer checked into the game in the ninth inning and held the Sooners hitless to secure his seventh save of the year.
Alabama will travel to Samford for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game can be streamed on SEC Network+.
