Alabama drops to 29-15 overall and 10-11 in the SEC after dropping two of three games to the Volunteers.

Here is a recap of the weekend.

Game One:

Alabama kept its momentum rolling on Thursday, securing a second straight conference victory by outlasting Tennessee in a high-scoring 12-8 battle.

Bryce Fowler led the Alabama offense, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two walks from the cleanup spot. Eric Hines went 2-for-5 with four RBI, highlighted by a pivotal three-run home run in the sixth inning that extended Alabama’s lead to five.

The Tennessee bats continued the momentum from Thursday while Alabama was unable to get anything going in a 10-0 loss in the first game of the Friday doubleheader.

The Crimson Tide held a 3-2 lead going into the sixth inning, but the Volunteers put up a seven-spot in the bottom of the sixth and never looked back.

The most productive hitter for Alabama came from the nine hole. Peyton Steele delivered a 2-for-3 night, including a solo home run in the third inning. Jason Torres provided a solo home run of his own in the fifth inning.

Myles Upchurch battled for five innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out four, but was handed his third loss of the season.
