No. 17 Alabama baseball made a statement, sweeping No. 19 Texas A&M to open up SEC play 3-0 on the season.

The sweep of the Aggies was the first time the Crimson Tide swept an SEC foe since April 2022 when they swept Ole Miss.

Here is a recap of the weekend series.

Game One:

Alabama powered its way to a 6-4 victory in the opening game of the series by slugging four home runs.

Will Hodo opened up the scoring with a two-run home run in the second. Bryce Fowler broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run home run in the fifth. Tied at 4-4 in the top of the ninth, Brennen Norton and Kade Snell hit back-to-back solo home runs with two outs to give the Crimson Tide the 6-4 win.

Zane Adams started the game for Alabama and delivered a quality start. Adams was able to scatter seven hits and allowed just one earned run over 5.2 innings pitched.

Carson Ozmer received the win in relief, allowing just one run on two hits in his 2.2 innings pitched.

"Great start to SEC play tonight," said head coach Rob Vaughn. "I challenged the guys before the game to win the toughness battle and they were great tonight. What a great start for Zane Adams in his home state and just gritty at-bats all night long. The environment was electric tonight and the boys responded like I knew they would. I'm proud of the effort and on to the next one."

Game Two:

Alabama clinched the series win with a 6-2 victory that included more two-out ninth inning heroics.

Tied at 2-2 with two outs in the top of the ninth, Will Hodo came to the plate with the bases loaded and slugged a game-winning grand slam. Hodo finished the day with two hits and four RBI. Justin Lebron was responsible for driving in Alabama’s other runs as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a triple shy of the cycle.

Riley Quick had a career day on the mound in his fifth start of the year, allowing just one hit and no runs over five innings of work. Quick also had a career high six strikeouts on the afternoon.

Game Three:

A stellar pitching performance helped the Crimson Tide complete the series sweep over Texas A&M with a 2-0 shutout victory on Sunday.

Bobby Alcock improved to 3-0 on the season after throwing a gem on Sunday. Alcock pitched seven innings of shutout baseball allowing just four hits and striking out eight batters. Braylon Myers came in relief of Alcock and pitched the final two innings to get the save and complete the shutout.

Kade Snell continued his hot hitting at the plate going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and a home run. Snell was responsible for scoring both of Alabama’s runs

Alabama will host South Alabama for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game can be streamed on SEC Network+.
