No. 23 Alabama baseball won the weekend series against Presbyterian College but dropped the Sunday finale for the Crimson Tide's first loss of the season.

The loss on Sunday ended the Tide’s program record 16-game win streak to start the season.

Here is a recap of the weekend series.

Game One:

On Friday, the Crimson Tide earned a shutout victory over Presbyterian College, winning 10-0 in seven innings and matching their best start in program history.

Zane Adams pitched his best game of the season, allowing just five hits and no runs, striking out a career-high 10 batters in six innings of work. A scoreless seventh inning from a combined effort of Zach Kittrell and Connor Ball preserved the run-rule win for the Crimson Tide.

"It starts with the dude on the mound,” said head coach Rob Vaughn. “Zane (Adams) was awesome tonight and just set the tone early. He was very efficient – it's hard to punch out 10 and still go deep in the game, and that's what he did. His punchouts were efficient and he had a really good changeup tonight. I loved the way that we competed, loved the way that we threw the ball – we walked one batter and punched out 11. You're going to win most games when you do that."

Justin Lebron went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs to extend his nation-leading RBI total to 37.

Game Two:

Once again, Alabama won by way of the 10-run rule in seven innings. A nine-run second inning helped lead the Crimson Tide to a 15-1 victory and improve to 16-0 on the year, a program record of most consecutive wins to start the season.

Will Hodo went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, highlighted by a second inning grand slam. Hodo finished the night with five RBI and a triple shy of the cycle.

Riley Quick improved to 4-0, allowing just two hits and one run over 4.1 innings pitched. Hagan Banks and Beau Bryans came out of the bullpen and recorded the final eight outs to close out the win.

Game Three:

A big sixth inning for Presbyterian College was too much for the Crimson Tide to overcome. A four-run first inning for Alabama felt like the series finale was headed towards another run-rule decision, but the Blue Hose had other plans. The Crimson Tide lead was trimmed down to one headed into the sixth inning. A five-run inning for Presbyterian College to put the Blue Hose up four was too much for Alabama to overcome.

Jason Torres had a big day at the plate for the Crimson Tide, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI. Justin Lebron reached safely in four of his five plate appearances, going 1-for-2 and drawing three walks. Getting runners on base was not an issue for Alabama — driving them in was. The Crimson Tide left 10 runners on base in the loss.

Alabama will travel to UAB for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
