U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is continuing his fight against the spread of Islamic Sharia law, saying it threatens the very fabric of American society.
“We're being invaded. And we're not being invaded by people that want to assimilate to our ideas,” Tuberville said on a recent episode of “1819 News: The Podcast.” “They want to do it their way. They're a third-world country. They don't believe in Christianity. They don't believe in our morals or our values. They believe in what they want to believe in. And we're not allowing that to happen now. We don't need their help. So if you don't want to come here and do what's right and try to make this country better, go home.”
Tuberville mentioned how Alabama residents successfully stopped the expansion of a Muslim school in Hoover. However, other parts of the country are being overrun.
“If you look at everything that they're doing in our country, they're taking over streets, they're taking over neighborhoods, they take over Times Square, they do it out here. They have what, five prayers a day? They play all this music. Hey, do what makes you happy, OK? But again, at the end of the day, you've got to be for this country and for our values and all those things. But you know what? They don't do that in their countries. There's 57 Muslim countries. They don't allow them to do that. You do it at home. You do it in the mosque or whatever. You don't stop traffic. You don't make a spectacle out of it. But here, they're trying to show their strength. That's what they're trying to do.”
Tuberville encouraged Alabamians to “fight back” and not be deterred by the threat of ridicule or liberal name-calling.
"You have to stand up and speak your peace, and don't worry about taking ridicule," he said. "You just got to fight for your community and your city and your state and your country all at one time.”
Tuberville continued, “I know some good Muslim people that want to make our country better. They work hard. But there's two things that cross the line for me when it comes to anybody that doesn't want to assimilate into this country. If you go by the Quran, there's 41 places in the Quran that teach to kill people that are non-Muslim. To me, that's, I mean, you can't do that. Because they call it a religion. Islam is not a religion. It's a cult. And so cults go by laws like the Quran teaches. So, the Quran and Sharia law, those two things, if you go by Sharia law, it does the same thing… We passed a law in Alabama that there's no Sharia law. It needs to be all over the country."
