Wesley Britt, the husband of U.S. Senator-elect Katie Britt, joined Fine, Geddie and Associates, an Alabama lobbying firm, this week.

According to Alabama Daily News, Wesley Britt had "previously worked in economic development and government affairs for Alabama Power, but stepped down last year to fully support his wife's campaign for the U.S. Senate."

U.S. Senator-elect Katie Britt, a Republican, won the general election over her Democratic and Libertarian opponents with 66.8 percent of the vote on Nov. 8, according to the Associated Press. She'll be sworn into office on Jan. 3, 2023.

Wesley Britt will represent "state-level clients and take no part in federal lobbying efforts," according to a statement from the firm provided to Alabama Daily News.

"I am thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to join a top-notch team at Fine Geddie," Britt said in an announcement provided to the outlet. "Joe Fine and Bob Geddie are first-ballot Hall of Famers, and I can't wait to work with everyone at the firm to serve our clients and strengthen our great state."

Wesley Britt first registered to lobby for Alabama Power at the state level in 2015, according to Alabama Political Reporter

"For over 33 years the world's most prominent business entities have relied on Fine Geddie as their most trusted advisors for navigating governmental issues in Alabama," according to the firm's website.

Wesley Britt was a first-team All-SEC and third-team AP All-American as an offensive lineman at the University of Alabama and played in the NFL for the New England Patriots, according to the Katie Britt for Senate's campaign website.
