Former federal engineer and small business owner Erica White has won the District 6 seat on the Madison City Council.
White easily defeated Scott Harbour in Tuesday's runoff, earning 62.32% (751) of ballots cast to Harbour's 37.68% (454).
After the race was called in her favor, White expressed gratitude on social media for the support from voters.
"WE DID IT! THANK YOU DISTRICT 6!!," she said. "Thank you to everyone who supported my campaign by voting, calling, emailing, messaging, volunteering, smiling, waving, honking. I truly appreciate your trust in me and I look forward to serving Madison City."
According to her campaign website, White has been a resident of Madison since 2010 and a District 6 resident since 2016.
White has previously served as a court-appointed juvenile advocate.
