Election results for Wilcox County were delayed after the machine used to count absentee ballots displayed an error message. The County had to wait for a new voting stick to be delivered for the ES&S (Election Systems & Software) machine.
Election officials returned on Wednesday to count the absentee ballots after the voting machine was repaired.
The County reported a 41% voter turnout among registered voters.
The results showed incumbent Sheriff Larry Colston winning the Democratic primary with 78% of the vote. Other Democratic primary winners were Christin Burrell for Wilcox County tax assessor and Jaylin Hall for coroner.
Full results can be viewed on the Alabama Secretary of State’s website.
