The FBI Mobile announced the guilty plea of a Wilmer man arrested in April as part of a nationwide child abuse prevention sweep.
James Eugene Dees pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of obscene visual representation of sexual abuse of Children.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI investigated the case.
The unprecedented operation was part of a National Child Abuse Prevention Month initiative to arrest child sex predators across the country. Two others, Zachary Norris and Jason Johnson, were also arrested during the Mobile County investigation.
Dees had already served time in state custody for a similar conviction and was found with over 800 child porn images on his phone during a probation check.
He now faces a 20-year minimum mandatory sentence for the federal charges.
