The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Weather Advisory in Mobile. Areas in Baldwin, Escambia, and Mobile counties are in the advisory, including the cities of Citronelle, Saraland, Stockton, Mobile, Prichard, Theodore, Bay Minette, Daphne, Fairhope, Foley, Spanish Fort, Bayou La Batre, Dauphin Island, Grand Bay, Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and surrounding towns and cities.

The advisory is in effect on Friday, Jan. 21, until noon.

People in those areas can expect freezing rain and ice accumulation Friday morning that could cause travel hazards. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses could be slick, according to the NWS.

Drivers should use extreme caution and watch for slick spots. Stay a safe distance from other drivers and avoid sudden braking or acceleration.
