Beloved Mobile news anchor Bill Riales announced he will retire after nearly 50 years in broadcasting and 25 years at WKRG News 5.
“That’s right, folks. My broadcasting career is coming to an end soon,” Riales said in a letter to viewers. “I’ve spent the last 25 years at WKRG in the company of some magnificent people. In all, my career has spanned almost 50 years in broadcasting and media.”
Riales told the story about how he got into the media business as a teenager and reviewed some of his most fascinating stories.
“In short, I’ve had the privilege of a really cool broadcasting career, and I’ve had a lot of fun,” he said.
Riales’s last day on air will be December 19.
