The Demopolis Police Department arrested a woman for assault on Tuesday after an attack at Walmart. However, a new charge of terrorism has been added, WSFA reported.
Kierra Carter, 32, is accused of attacking two people with a crowbar and a butcher knife.
Police first received the call as an active shooter, but quickly learned that rather than a shooting, there was a person inside the store assaulting others.
Investigators said Carter attacked a woman with a crowbar and chased her through the store, then cut a man across his abdomen when he tried to take the crowbar from her.
The victims were not known to the suspect.
Both victims were taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital, where the woman was treated and released. However, the man had to be flown to UAB Hospital. His condition is unknown.
Carter remains in the Marengo County Detention Facility without bond.
