A Randolph County grand jury brought an indictment against a Woodland man after a family member came forward years after she said he raped her as a child.
Michael Joseph Spradlin, 57, was indicted on charges of second-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, first-degree rape and incest.
According to court documents, the girl was between the ages of 12 and 16 when the incidents occurred. The indictment accused Spradlin of having sexual intercourse with the child by “forcible compulsion.”
Spradlin is being held in the Randolph County Jail. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.
