U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) weighed in on the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis who appeared to strike a federal agent with her vehicle on Wednesday.
"The Democrats and the politicians, especially around Minneapolis, have created an atmosphere that's not pro-law enforcement at all, and they're not backing them," Tuberville said on Fox Business Network's "Kudlow."
The lawmaker argued that after the shooting, Minneapolis liberals are now reaping what they have sown with their incitement of violence.
"All they have to do is come out and say, listen, listen to the police. Go by the law and stay off the streets, and let them do their job. But they are inciting all this rioting and the pushing and the pointing fingers and throwing rocks at ICE agents. You know, this is a terrible situation, but you reap what you sow. And this is all on the politicians in Minneapolis. They asked for it."
"They pushed these people into a situation where they followed their lead, and this led to a disaster," he added.
The Department of Homeland Security has ruled the shooting as justified due to the woman "weaponizing" her vehicle.
