A pro-Palestinian youth organization, the Young Palestinians of Huntsville, has announced it will be holding a "Week of Action" beginning on October 3 in the downtown area of Huntsville and on the University of Alabama in Huntsville's campus.
The group claimed in a social media post that the initiative is meant to "honor the martyrs, stand with the survivors, and demand justice, freedom, and an end to genocide."
"As we mark two years of genocide, we recall our responsibility to the people of Gaza, who have resisted an all-out war on their lives for over 700 days," a post from the organization said.
"The time is now to link arms, reenergize ourselves and our people, and stop the world for Gaza," the post added. "We will not rest until the genocide is brought to an end, until those who bear responsibility are made to answer for their crimes before an international tribunal, and until Palestine is free."
The organization listed the events scheduled for the week, including a protest in Big Spring Park.
