Alabama Public Service Commission, Place 2 candidate Jim Zeigler is advancing to November's general election following his defeat of incumbent Chris Beeker III in Tuesday's Republican runoff.
An attorney and former State Auditor of Alabama, Zeigler earned 51.3% (152,491) of the vote to Beeker's 48.7% (144,557).
Zeigler will now face Madison County Democratic Party chair Sheila D. McNeil on Nov. 3.
