In their first-ever trip to the semifinal of the National Invitation Tournament, the top-seeded Auburn Tigers cruised to an 88-66 rout of No. 4 seed Illinois State on Thursday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse. 

In the first-ever meeting between the two foes, top-seeded Auburn defeated Seattle U 91-85 in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament on Sunday evening at Neville Arena. 

After an uninspiring first half, No. 1 seed Auburn found its groove in the second stanza, romping its way to a 78-67 win over South Alabama in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament on Tuesday night at Neville Arena. 

Auburn's season will continue after accepting a bid to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), where it will host in-state foe South Alabama in the first round on Tuesday.

No. 12 seed Auburn imploded down the stretch of Thursday’s SEC Tournament contest against No. 5 Tennessee, allowing the Volunteers to close the game on a 31-11 run en route to a 72-62 victory, ending the Tigers’ hopes of solidifying themselves as an NCAA Tournament squad. 

With a 79-61 triumph over 13th-seeded Mississippi State in the first round of the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena, 12th-seeded Auburn lives to fight another day.

In its regular-season finale, and with its postseason hopes hanging in the balance, Auburn delivered a flat first-half performance that proved too much to overcome on Saturday night.
