Friday, during his weekly appearance on Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "The Jeff Poor Show," Elliott warned that Gov. Kay Ivey's decision to forgo any federal matching on the West Alabama Corridor will mean more outcomes similar to that of the Tuscaloosa AL-69 project.

The state of Alabama continues to work on a finance plan for the Mobile Interstate 10 Bayway Project and continues to wait on word from the federal government.

Federal Highway Administrator Shailen Bhatt was in Mobile Monday with other federal, state and local dignitaries to celebrate the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) $550 million contribution to the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project. Gov. Kay Ivey was on hand for the event.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) awarded a $550 million discretionary grant for the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project. The grant is the second-largest to ever be awarded from the Bridge Investment program.

State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Josephine) says the state needs to think creatively about the Interstate 10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project and maybe consider cutting costs so something can be done.
