
The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is receiving more than $2 million in state funding to assist with agricultural and forestry-related projects.

The Alabama Forestry Association announced on Monday that it was endorsing State Rep. Matt Woods (R-Jasper) in his bid for the state’s newly opened Senate District 5 (SD5) seat.

“Removing hazardous trees that would otherwise threaten wildfire-prone communities and having rural, forest-based economies turn those materials into renewable building and energy products, stand as examples of how a clean energy economy is within reach,” said Sec. Vilsack.
