U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville on Wednesday defended his voting no on the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act on Monday, after facing criticism for going against the partisan grain and not voting alongside fellow Alabama U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery).

On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved an amendment offered by U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) to an appropriations bill backing drug testing for federal housing benefits.
