Nearly four years after Jose Paulino Pascual-Reyes, an illegal alien living in Dadeville, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and double murder, the State has doled out tens of thousands for multiple attorneys and foreign language interpreters without yet setting a trial date.  

The case of an illegal alien charged with 11 counts in the deaths of his girlfriend and her child could go to trial in December, nearly three-and-a-half years after the murders.

It has been three years to the day since  José Paulino Pascual-Reyes, 37, was arrested for double murder and for kidnapping a 12-year-old girl who escaped his Dadeville trailer; there has still been little to no movement on the prosecution.

Despite previously admitting to killing his girlfriend and her son, lawyers for double-murder and kidnapping suspect Jose Paulino Pascual-Reyes are appealing the state’s request for a compulsory DNA sample. 

The pre-trial hearing has been set for the Dadeville man accused of murdering two and kidnapping one.
