Madison Utilities appears to be moving forward with plans to stop adding fluoride to the city’s water supply after a motion to reconsider failed during a meeting Monday night.

The growing national concern over fluoride in drinking water may have impacted Madison Utilities’ decision to halt its fluoridization process.

The Madison Utilities Board will hold a public hearing on May 13 to hear residents' concerns or support for continuing to add fluoride to the local water supply.
