
The Marshall County Personnel Board voted Wednesday during a special called meeting to proceed with litigation against the Marshall County Commission for allegedly violating Alabama Act 82-206, which sets the board's rules and regulations.

The ongoing dispute between the Marshall County Commission and the Personnel Board over a controversial hire could end up in circuit court if the two parties can’t make peace.

After multiple meetings and tense debate, the Marshall County Commission is moving forward with a resolution asking the state legislature to amend the Personnel Board Act of 1982.

In a narrow decision, the Marshall County Personnel Board voted Monday to draft a resolution asking the county’s state legislative delegation not to make any changes to Act No. 82-206, which formed the board in 1982. This comes a day before the Marshall County Commission is scheduled to vote on its own resolution asking to amend the act.
