
After telling the Charter School Commission in an exculpatory statement that it is in “full compliance” with the state’s divisive concepts ban in K-12 schools, Birmingham’s Magic City Acceptance Academy (MCAA) continues to facilitate training for its faculty from DEI training organizations.

The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) last month appointed an employee of the pro-LGBTQ+ charter school, the Magic City Acceptance Academy (MCAA), to the official state textbook committee, though it did so by means not evidently based on law.

Despite hopes of slashed federal funding for progressive institutions, millions of state and federal funds continue to pour into an expanding network of non-profit organizations, including K-12 schools, medical centers, and more in the Birmingham area.

Though there were appointees from Governor Kay Ivey, Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth, House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter (R-Rainsville), and former State President Pro Tem Greg Reed (R-Jasper) present, not a single one of them offered a motion for non-renewal.
