
The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) unveiled a revised plan for the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project, which includes a nearly $8 toll bridge. The toll is a steep increase over the previously proposed $2.50 toll.

Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) co-bylined an op-ed that appeared Tuesday on AL(dot)com, which praised President Donald Trump and his administration's efforts to move construction forward on the long-awaited new I-10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway.

Jack Burrell, the chairman of the Eastern Shore MPO, told 1819 News the $4 billion Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project is on track to break ground in 2025. Environmental studies and geotechnical services are still being performed and re-negotiations are underway with contractors for both phase one and phase two of the project.

The estimated $3.5 billion project was paused while officials worked to find a way to fund the project after inflation and other factors doubled the estimated costs.
