According to the casting notice posted by Mobile-based Goleman Casting, LLC, “Sundown Town” follows a group of “black college friends who take a wrong turn into a racially hostile town where local myths turn terrifyingly real.”

State Sen. Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman) is offering to match radio host Dale Jackson’s $1000 reward for anyone who can produce proof of a sign warning black people to leave the city.

State Sen. Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman) is proud of his hometown and how it’s grown and progressed over the years. That’s why when accusations of Cullman being a “sundown town” resurfaced online, he was quick to defend his city and constituents from the harmful, baseless “myth.”

Several online influencers on TikTok and other social media platforms have been warning black people and other minorities not to go to Cullman or attend its Christmas market because it is a “Sundown town,” a pre-1950s term used to describe communities that excluded black people.
