U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) is "100% sure" that Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville will soon be announced as the new home for U.S. Space Command.

According to Strong, he spoke with President Donald Trump and the White House and was assured that the Space Command Headquarters would be relocated from Colorado Springs, Col., to his district.

“Me and my staff have been in contact with the President, the President’s office this week, and I’m going to say, I’m 100% sure it’s coming to Redstone. The President has made promises related to doing what’s right for national security. Every evaluation points to Redstone Arsenal. We have no time to waste. It’s time to go vertical," Strong told WAFF.

The North Alabama Republican went on to tell the news station that the move was "past due" after the Secretary of the Air Force designated the Redstone Arsenal site as the top choice for the Space Command headquarters four years ago.

“I made a commitment, I want to do what’s right for national security, we did a lot of research, we want to be sure that we do what’s best for America. It didn’t take long to find out that Redstone Arsenal is best for national security,” Strong said, per WAFF. “If you look at it, we’ve got the right people at the right place at the right time. This situation with Space Command, it’s been four years. It’s past due. It’s been over four years since it was first announced.”

He later added, "I think everybody is ready for this decision to be made."

According to WAFF, Strong expects the announcement "to be made in the next few weeks."
