Alabama Department of Mental Health commissioner Kimberly Boswell, the subject of an ethics complaint filed in August by then-Department of Veterans Affairs commissioner Kent Davis, offered very little on the matter in an appearance on Friday's broadcast of Alabama Public Television's "Capitol Journal."
According to the since-dismissed complaint, Boswell and others allegedly violated an inter-agency agreement after an ADVA board member was critical of Boswell's agency over its handling of opioid settlement funds.
Boswell told Stacy she was "moving forward" before pivoting to veterans work within her agency.
"So I'm shaking the dust off my feet and moving forward. So what we're really excited about is the Veterans Mental Health Steering Committee and the work that's being done through that," she said. "You know, through all of this, we've just really tried to stay focused on our mission and on the task that we were given by the legislature to run the Veterans Mental Health Steering Committee. It's been really exciting to see the work that's going on with that group. The group has really come together."
Boswell continued, "We have some really great folks on that committee. You know, Retired General Paulette Risher, who is the Vice Chair, has been a tremendous help in working with the Veterans community. There's a tremendous amount of work going on there."
