Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall bought advertising to place two “Stand With Israel” billboards on I-65 in Birmingham on Monday.
Monday was the one-year anniversary of Hamas terrorists entering Israel through the Gaza Strip, killing thousands of Israelis and capturing hundreds more as hostages.
Marshall said the billboards were “in response to a billboard we saw in Birmingham that said ‘Stand with Palestine.’”

“Understanding both professionally the work I’ve done as an AG and my own personal experience being in Israel in September of last year shortly before the attack took place, I think it’s a very important statement for us to make not only as a state but to be able to contrast that with what was already up in Birmingham for folks to see,” Marshall told 1819 News on Tuesday.
He continued, “There is a direct connection with our nation in Israel, with our state in Israel, and for believers with the nation of Israel.”
“I think it’s important for us to affirm that. That billboard, while just a very specific message I think is emblematic to make that direct link. Look, 200 missiles plus dropped on that nation or attempted to be dropped into that nation from foreign enemies when they are our greatest ally. When you see what’s going on not only in Auburn but many college campuses across our nation when you see the narrative and the rhetoric that comes from many that would stand behind that ‘From the River To The Sea” narrative, it’s important to be able to say that there’s I think a clear majority of Alabamians and Americans that stand with Israel and Israeli policy,” Marshall added.
