In an attempt to force a political debate, AL-6 candidate Gerrick Wilkins is upping the ante, offering to donate $10,000 to veterans if incumbent U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) agrees to debate.
Wilkins has recently pushed for a debate with Palmer, attempting to mimic the January 24 clash between AL-1 candidates and U.S. Reps. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and Jerry Carl (R-Mobile).
In a social media post, Wilkins claimed he has been attempting to elicit a response from Palmer despite multiple calls for a debate. Wilkins also vowed to donate $10,000 to a veterans charity if Palmer agrees to a debate.
"At present it has been 35 days since I initially reached out to Rep. Palmer inviting him to debate and I have yet to receive any response, so how about this: Congressman Palmer steps up to the debate podium, and I will make a personal donation of $10,000 for our veterans," Wilkins said. "This is a chance to turn words into meaningful action for our veterans."
