In addition to the department-wide awards, Justin Miller, an Alabama Extension communications and marketing specialist, was awarded the ACE Rising Star Award. Recipients of this award are those that demonstrate exceptional leadership and technical skills in their communication field to their institution and service to ACE.

“It is an honor to have my work and abilities recognized by my colleagues from across the country,” Miller said. “I would not be where I am today if not for my mentors and the talented people I work with each day.”

Miller’s award marks the fourth time an Alabama Extension communications professional has received this award. Past awardees include Glenda Freeman, Maggie Lawrence and Tschetter.

The association will confer awards in June as a part of the ACE annual conference in Kansas City, Missouri.
