Iran launched a missile strike on the United States’ Al-Udeid military base in Qatar on Monday.
According to TheNew York Times, Iran gave advanced warning that the attack was coming to minimize casualties. There were reportedly no casualties or damage. The attack was retaliation for the United States' bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday.
U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) said, “Iran’s decision to launch missiles at our forces in Qatar is not a smart move—but it’s also not surprising.”
“Time and again, when given the chance to make the right choice, Iran has chosen the opposite. Their actions are driven by a deep-rooted hatred for America and Israel, not reason or diplomacy. I’m closely monitoring the situation for any reports of injury to our military personnel or assets,” Aderholt said.
U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said, “Pray for the safety of our service members.”
“May God bless and protect them,” he added.
