The University of Alabama football team continues to sit at No. 8 in the College Football Playoff (CFP) top 25 ranking.

On Tuesday, the CFP released its rankings, and Alabama was again sitting behind No. 7 Texas, which beat the Crimson Tide 34-24 earlier this season for their only loss thus far.

The top four teams in the country make the CFP to determine the national champion. The top four had a shake-up from the previous week, which saw Georgia and Ohio State swap positions.

This week, the CFP's top four teams are No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Florida State.

Georgia, which is coming off back-to-back national championships, is set to face Alabama in the SEC Championship on December 2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Should Alabama beat Chattanooga, Auburn and then Georgia in the SEC title game, the Crimson Tide could force their way into the CFP.

The Tide play their final home game of the season on Saturday against Chattanooga at 11 a.m. CT.
