The Alabama Republican Assembly is holding an open meeting on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Rotunda at the American Village in Montevallo to discuss and plan for Alabama’s upcoming 2025 and 2026 elections.

While anyone can attend, only members may vote on organizational business.

Known as the “Conscience of the Republican Party,” the Alabama Republican Assembly believes this year’s 2025 municipal elections will shape not only how our communities thrive but also the 2026 midterm election cycle. The group calls on conservative leaders to step forward, ensuring that common sense, fiscal responsibility and community safety guide local governance, with true leadership beginning at home.

This year’s meeting will take place at a fittingly historic venue: the Rotunda of the American Village in Shelby County. As we near the 250th anniversary of America’s founding in 2026, this inspiring location reflects our commitment to patriotism and self-reliance.

Highlights of the American Village include Washington Hall, modeled after George Washington’s Mount Vernon; the Colonial Courthouse; the Colonial Chapel, inspired by Virginia’s Bruton Parish Church; and a full-scale Oval Office replica featuring the Resolute Desk, used by most presidents since Rutherford Hayes.

New additions include the National Veterans Shrine and Register of Honor, honoring our armed forces, and an Independence Hall replica.

Charles "Kip" Kiplinger is Vice President of North Central Alabama Republican Assembly.
