The Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) has officially announced qualifying dates for Republican candidates seeking to run in the 2026 special primary elections for State Senate Districts 25 and 26.
Candidate qualifying is open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Republican candidates may qualify online at www.algop.org or in person at ALGOP Headquarters, located at 3505 Lorna Road, Hoover, AL 35216.
The special primary election for Senate Districts 25 and 26 will be held on Tuesday, August 11.

Governor Kay Ivey called an August 11 special election on Friday for State Senate Districts 25 and 26 after the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision to allow for the use of the 2021 Alabama-drawn State Senate map.
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals stayed a recent ruling by U.S. District Judge Anna Manasco on Thursday that barred Alabama from using a State Senate map passed by the Legislature in 2021.
