Alabama's entire Republican congressional delegation received A+ ratings on the most recent Susan B. Anthony (SBA) Pro-Life America scorecard.
The Scorecard is designed to highlight politicians' efforts to fight against abortion and hold them accountable by tracking voting records. Only lawmakers with a 100% pro-life record and who lead on the issue are awarded an A+ rating.
Lawmakers can earn the A+ ranking by authoring pro-life bills, co-sponsorships, co-signed letters, floor speeches or offering pro-life amendments in committee.
In both chambers, Alabama's Republican delegation received A+ ratings.
U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) received the ranking for their work in the Senate, and U.S. Reps. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), Dale Strong (R-Monrovia), Mike Rogers (R-Saks) and Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) received the ranking for their work in the House of Representatives.
U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) received an F rating. U.S. Rep. Shomari Figures (D-Mobile) was not given a rating since he has only been in Congress for a few days.
Aderholt was the first to respond after the rankings were released on Wednesday, thanking SBA for the rating and promising to work with President-elect Donald Trump "to advance a pro-life agenda."
I am proud to have earned an A+ on @sbaprolife’s scorecard – as Chairman of the House Values Action Team, I work everyday to defend the lives of children in the womb.
