The Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee passed a resolution condemning the Biden Administration for the FBI raid on former President Donald J. Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla.

The resolution was brought by Republican National Committeeman Paul Reynolds.

Calling the raid "unprecedented overreach," the Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee voted overwhelmingly to stand in solidarity with former President Trump.

Eighty-nine percent of the committee members voted in favor of the resolution.

The resolution reads in part:

“NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Alabama Republican Party stands against the weaponizing of any government agency for political purposes, and is appalled by the unprecedented overreach by the US Department of Justice and FBI;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of Alabama stands in Solidarity with Donald Trump, and condemns the Biden administration for these outrageous actions.”

The Alabama Republican Party claims in the Resolution that, “This raid is the latest example of a pattern of conduct carried out by Federal Law Enforcement that holds Democrats and Republicans to different standards; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Alabama Republican Party stands against the weaponizing of any government agency for political purposes, and is appalled by the unprecedented overreach by the US Department of Justice and FBI.”

"As our resolution states, this is just one more example of the federal government holding Republicans and Democrats to different standards,” claimed Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl. “This use of force was uncalled for and incredibly disrespectful of a former president. Our membership stands with President Trump as he faces this injustice.”

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland defended the raid on Thursday.

“Federal law, longstanding Department rules, and our ethical obligations prevent me from providing further details as to the basis of the search at this time,” Garland said. “There are, however, certain points I want you to know. First, I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter. Second, the Department does not take such a decision lightly. Where possible, it is standard practice to seek less intrusive means as an alternative to a search and to narrowly scope any search that is undertaken. Third, let me address recent unfounded attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors. I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked. The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated, patriotic public servants.”

The FBI reportedly seized 11 sets of classified documents in the search, according to information obtained by NBC News. Also according to reports, Trump’s attorney signed a document months ago that all classified documents had been turned over.

Following Garland’s comments, former President Trump released a statement:

“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After I, working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don't want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections. Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.

“The political persecution of President Donald J. Trump has been going on for years, with the now fully debunked Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and so much more, it just never ends, it is political targeting at the highest level!”

Trump then mentioned the controversy surrounding Hillary Clinton's "home brew" server and mobile devices which contained classified information.

“Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 E-mails AFTER they were subpoenaed by Congress," Trump said. "Absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable. She even took antique furniture, and other items from the White House.

“I stood up to America’s bureaucratic corruption, I restored power to the people, and truly delivered for our Country, like we have never seen before. The establishment hated it. Now, as they watch my endorsed candidates win big victories, and see my dominance in all polls, they are trying to stop me, and the Republican Party, once more. The lawlessness, political persecution, and Witch Hunt must be exposed and stopped. I will continue to fight for the Great American People!”

There is speculation that the Justice Department is eager to get some form of a conviction against Trump so that he cannot run against Biden in 2024 for President.

The 440-member Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee meets twice annually to update the bylaws, elect officers, and pass resolutions. Alabama has the largest state executive committee in the country.
