The Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) is hosting a prayer event on the steps of ALGOP headquarters ahead of the May 19 primary election.
The event is slated to feature House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter (R-Rainsville), Senate President Pro-Tem Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman), Mobile pastor Travis Johnson, and the veteran and vocalist from Birmingham, Donna Johnson.
"As we head into this important election season, we believe there is power in prayer and strength in unity,” said ALGOP chairman Scott Stadthagen. “We invite Alabamians from every corner of our state to join us as we pray for our leaders, our communities, and the future of Alabama.”
The event is scheduled for May 18, the day before the primary election, at ALGOP’s headquarters on Lorna Road in Hoover. It will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a lunch to follow.
