A woman is facing a domestic violence charge after witnesses say she ran over her husband in the Atmore Walmart parking lot.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, according to court documents.
The Atmore Police Department responded and witnesses said the woman was chasing a man with a Ford Explorer and hit him. The victim escaped by jumping into a ditch, but he did have a minor injury to his ankle.
The woman was taken into custody and was identified as Whitney McGhee, 23, of Atmore. She was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center on a charge of second-degree domestic violence.
Court documents show McGhee previously filed for protection from abuse (PFA) but petitioned to have it dropped less than a month before the Walmart incident.
