The court-appointed attorney representing a man charged in the 2022 death of a Bibb County deputy has been removed from the case.

Austin Patrick Hall sent the judge a handwritten letter stating his attorney had not been communicating with him enough and asked the attorney be removed. Lee then entered a motion saying “there has been irretrievable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship.”

The judge granted the motion.

Hall is charged in the death of deputy Brad Johnson, who died after being shot during a police chase. Investigator Chris Poole was also shot. He was treated and released from the hospital.
