The court-appointed attorney representing a man charged in the 2022 death of a Bibb County deputy has been removed from the case.
The State of Alabama has agreed to pay the estate of slain Bibb County deputy Brad Johnson $1 million, the maximum allowed by state law.
Funeral arrangements have been decided for Bibb County K9 deputy Brad Johnson, who passed away at UAB Hospital on June 30 after he was critically wounded during a shootout.
“The Prattville Police Department sends our prayers to the family of Deputy Bradley Johnson of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. He was mortally wounded in the line of duty yesterday and is currently on life support so that he may continue to save lives through the organ donor process. The person responsible for this has since been captured and will hopefully face justice for this unspeakable act of cowardice and evil. "
